Aloha Art Studio

My aunt and uncle run a small ceramics and multimedia studio in Aloha, Oregon. I've been helping them with their website and branding in exchange for my uncle's truly beautiful pottery.

Their website and identity are still in progress. Currently, the logo and alignment are rough. I'm exploring a direction that uses hand lettering. Since the two of them are originally from Hawaii, I was inspired by vintage, surfer typography, which fits the personality of their studio perfectly. I wanted the visuals to strike a balance between approachable, handmade, and modern.

Product photography

I kept the photographs simple, so the texture of the pottery was the focal element. I chose a simple white background and foreground to play off of the vibrant crystallization of the ceramic glaze.
